Angélica Atondo is back in television news after a five-year break. Telemundo Arizona has hired her as a reporter and anchor.
She started the new job this week. She co-anchored the 11 am and 4 pm newscasts on Thursday, but there is no confirmation yet on her final schedule.
Since leaving her primetime anchor position at Univision Chicago in 2014, Atondo worked in public relations and had a brief stint as the host of a show on Discovery en Español.
This move marks her return to Phoenix airwaves. Atondo previously worked as an anchor at Univision in Phoenix.
