Telemundo plans to stand out within the Peacock streaming service

Telemundo Peacock

Telemundo is counting that its original content will make a splash amidst a sea of content on its parent company’s recently launched Peacock streaming platform.

Thousands of hours of its original programming will live on the service.

Peter Blacker, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises’s EVP of Revenue Strategy and Innovation, is optimistic about the Spanish-language network’s prospects and additional exposure to an English-language audience on the new digital service.

Peacock has a “Latino” section, where all the Telemundo content lives, including recent and older original programs that have aired on the network and sister cable channel Universo (previously mun2), like I Love Jeni, the hit 2011-2012 reality series that followed the life of late singer Jenni Rivera.

It’s also planning on remastering some of its “nostalgia and best titles” to create shorter, bingeable versions.

You can read more about strategies Blacker outlined to reach a broader audience, including the future of Telemundo content on other streaming services like Netflix and Hulu on Forbes.
