Carolina Cruz has moved west to step into an anchor role.
She has joined KCTV as weekend morning anchor and will also be reporting on three days a week.
Born in Colombia and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Cruz is no stranger to the Midwest. The move to Kansas City is a homecoming of sorts, as she lived here while attending Rockhurst University.
Cruz arrives to KCTV from WFSB in Hartford, Connecticut, where she was a reporter for the past two years.
Previously, she worked as a reporter at ABC affiliate KRGV in the Rio Grande Valley covering immigration, border security, and cartel violence in Mexico.
