Sergio Verdú has been named VP of Production at FOX Deportes.
He’ll be based at the company’s Los Angeles studios, marking his return to California after more than 20 years.
Verdú arrives to the sports broadcaster from ESPN, where he worked in various positions since 2006.
He was most recently Director of Production Development and New Projects. In that role, he oversaw global strategic production, playing a key role in the 2018 FIFA World Cup for Sub-Saharan Africa. He also established a plan for news shows for Southeast Asia, the United Kingdom, and Africa.
He was previously Director of Digital Media at ESPN, where he managed a global staff of 45 employees and oversaw digital programming, production, and acquisitions across numerous platforms for both ESPN Domestic and ESPN International. He also managed the digital video production for global events, including three FIFA World Cups and two Olympic Games. Before that, he was Director of Talent Management for both ESPN International and ESPN Deportes.
Prior to ESPN, Verdú worked at Univision Network for six years. He began his career as a news producer for KVEA Telemundo 52 in Los Angeles.
