Emmy award-winning journalist Valerie Castro joins CNBC as a correspondent for The News with Shepard Smith.
She started the new job this week, but has yet to make her on-air debut on the cable network.
She was most recently anchor for The Evening Report produced by NBC News for Quibi. She also reported for MSNBC and NBC News Now.
Castro was previously a general assignment reporter for WCBS in New York from 2014 to 2020.
Prior to moving to the East Coast, she spent five years at CBS affiliate KCNC in Denver.
Before that, she worked as an anchor and reporter at NBC affiliate KOB-TV in Albuquerque.
