Ivan Shammas has joined TelevisaUnivision as the president and general manager of Univision Atlanta and Univision Raleigh.
He will oversee all operational aspects of both stations including local and national ad sales, local news, marketing and community affairs.
Shammas will be based in Atlanta and travel back and forth to the Raleigh station as needed.
He’ll report to Antonio Román, Regional President, Eastern Region.
Shammas was most recently the General Manager for WKTB Telemundo Atlanta, a role he held since 2013.
This move marks his return to Univision where he previously spent 11 years as part of the original team that launched the WUVG Univision Atlanta station in 2002. He held various roles during his tenure including national account manager for Univision Atlanta and Univision Raleigh.
Shammas started his career as an account executive for Cable Advertising of Metro Atlanta (now Comcast’s Effectv) where he sold cable airtime on Univision, Telemundo and Galavisión.
