María Vargas-Pion is joining Telemundo Network’s recently revamped 3-hour weekday morning show hoy Día as a New York-based news correspondent.
She starts her new role Monday, March 14.
Vargas-Pion has been freelancing for Noticias Telemundo since March 2020 as a reporter for the network’s 6:30 p.m. daily newscast and most recently, for the weekend edition.
She will continue reporting for Noticias Telemundo’s weekend newscast until the end of March.
Before landing at the network, the Emmy award-winning journalist was a news reporter at Telemundo 47 in New York and Telemundo 62 in Philadelphia.
Vargas-Pion’s past experience includes news reporter jobs at Univision 41 Nueva York, NY1 Noticias and News 12 En Español.
A native of the Dominican Republic, she started her broadcast career at CNN Headline News as an assistant producer in 2010.
