Carolina Cruz lands new job at Telemundo Washington DC

June 24, 2024 by Veronica Villafañe

Carolina Cruz has joined Telemundo Washington DC as an investigative reporter. She’ll be focusing on consumer-oriented stories for Telemundo Responde.

Cruz made her on-air debut today, June 24.

This new opportunity marks her departure from Univision Austin, where she worked as an MMJ and anchor since 2021.

Cruz’s move comes after Univision consolidated its Austin and San Antonio stations in August 2023, leading to the elimination of several positions in Austin.

Prior to her time in Texas, Cruz was a producer for WSNS Telemundo in Chicago. She also served a weekend news producer for Univision’s WGBO in Chicago.

Her career in broadcast journalism includes jobs as an MMJ at WVEA Univision Tampa Bay, which ended in 2015 when Entravision shut down its newscast operations there and as an MMJ and anchor/Producer for the Spanish-language newscast at WTVO/WQRF in Rockford, Illinois.
