Rene Alegría named Chief Innovation Officer at Nueva Network

Nueva Network has tapped Rene Alegría to be its Chief Innovation Officer.

In his new role, Alegría will focus on developing innovative strategies and opportunities to expand the audio media company’s reach, amplify Latino voices and address the evolving audience needs.

Alegría joins the company after a six-year tenure as President and CEO of digital media company MundoNow (formerly Mundo Hispánico).

During his time at MundoNow, the company won 36 regional Emmy Awards. He also led the development and launch of Oyenos Audio, a Latino podcast network.

Previously, Alegría served as CEO of the health-focused digital platform saludmóvil.com. From 2011 to 2017, he founded and led Mamiverse Media, a platform for Latina moms. He also spent over a decade at HarperCollins in various editorial roles, including publisher of its U.S. Hispanic division, Rayo.
