Nueva Network, Costa Media, and MLC Media finalized a strategic merger to create a $100 million powerhouse in the U.S. Latino media space.
The newly formed entity, operating as De Novo One Media Group and doing business as Nueva Network, combines premium content, radio and digital networks, local owned-and-operated (O&O) stations, and sales and marketing expertise to strengthen its leadership in the Hispanic media landscape.
Founded and led by former Entravision executive Jose M. Villafañe, Nueva Network and Costa Media are audio content providers with a strong presence in radio network sales and marketing. Nueva Network operates as a sales organization, similar to KATZ, but focused on network sales, while Costa Media owns and manages radio stations.
Villafañe’s first acquisition was WCCM LatinX 103.7 FM in Boston, secured through an LMA-to-purchase agreement with Costa Eagle Media. Today, the companies own WFAX-AM/FM in Washington, D.C. (acquired in 2021) and WCCM-AM/FM in Boston (acquired in 2025) and manage two additional stations in D.C. (WDCN-FM and WUBG-AM/FM) through local marketing agreements.
MLC Media produces all the content for the combined entity. It serves more than 200 markets and 600 radio affiliates across the U.S. and Mexico. Founded by Carlos Moncada, a media veteran with over 40 years of experience, MLC Media has generated over $100 million in revenue and operates in the U.S., Mexico, Peru, Colombia, and Argentina.
The merger, valued at approximately $100 million, is based on current sales, open terrestrial and digital inventory, and projected growth.
Moncada will hold majority ownership and oversee business operations, finance, and content production. Villafañe will continue as Managing Partner and CEO, driving the company’s vision, growth strategy, and sales initiatives.
