Santiago Gallego joins Telemundo Chicago as reporter and anchor

April 3, 2025 by Veronica Villafañe

Santiago Gallego will join the Noticiero Telemundo Chicago team as a reporter and anchor starting Monday, April 7.

He will contribute to the station’s late morning, afternoon, and evening newscasts, while also serving as a back-up anchor.

Gallego makes the move to the Windy City from San Antonio, where he began his on-air career with Noticias 60 Telemundo as a multimedia journalist in 2014.

He remained at the Texas station for over 10 years and was promoted to anchor in 2016 when the station launched its afternoon newscasts. A year later, he assumed the lead anchor role following Alex Hernández’s departure.

A native of Colombia, Gallego previously worked as a coordinator and producer for the Telemundo Station Group desk in Miami.
