Telemundo expands news, launches sports FAST channel as part of 2025-26 programming slate

May 8, 2025 by Veronica Villafañe Leave a Comment

Telemundo plans more news and sports programming, with an emphasis on streaming, for its upcoming season.

As part of its overall 2025-26 programming strategy ahead of its May 12th Upfront event, the network announced its 24/7 Spanish-language news FAST channel Noticias Telemundo AHORA – celebrating its first year – will expand to nine hours of daily original content, including programs such as environmental weekly show Planeta Tierra.

The network is also launching Telemundo Deportes Ahora in August 2025, a new 24/7 FAST channel dedicated to sports content. This channel will support Telemundo’s coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, for which the network holds Spanish-language rights to all 104 matches.

Overall, Telemundo is increasing its live programming to over 70% of its lineup.
