María Berrelleza leaves Univision for Telemundo Chicago reporter job

Emmy award-winning journalist María Berrelleza has left WGBO Univision Chicago to join rival station WSNS Telemundo Chicago as an on-air reporter.

She will begin her new role on Monday, June 30, covering breaking news and feature stories for the station’s late morning, afternoon, and evening newscasts.

Berrelleza had served as a general assignment reporter at Univision Chicago since 2022.

Prior to that, she worked as a multimedia journalist for Telemundo stations in Sacramento and Fresno, from 2019 to 2022.

Earlier in her career, she held positions at Univision stations in Philadelphia and Phoenix, where she started as an assignment editor.
