PBS signs up for Nielsen ratings

PBS has subscribed to full-time television ratings from Nielsen for the first time in its history. The public broadcaster will now get a better sense of who’s watching its programs, apparently something that sponsors were looking for.

According to the NYT, PBS isn’t signing up for overnight ratings – just weekly, because some of the programs air at different times on member stations.
