Camilo Egaña, who anchored Mega TV’s 5 pm newscast with María Regina Bustamante, no longer works for the station. His contract was not renewed.
As part of the network’s restructuring, Mega TV has launched Mega News at 5 pm ET, with solo anchor Fernando del Rincón. María Regina will stay on as a reporter. Fernando will continue to anchor Mega News Nocturno at 10:30 pm ET.
The afternoon edition of Mega News is billed as an “interactive news magazine,” that will include audience participation via social media networks such as Facebook, Skype and Twitter.
