CNNE logo new

Ax falls as CNNE restructures

October 29, 2010 by Veronica Villafañe

Under the new leadership of Cynthia Hudson-Fernández, CNN en Español has announced a series of changes in the network, such as a new logo and marketing campaign, new studios and new faces.

On Wednesday, CNNE publicly welcomed 3 new anchors to the network: Fernando del Rincón, Camilo Egaña and Mercedes Soler.

Now comes news of further restructuring, which will be costing some employees their jobs.

Yesterday afternoon, CNNE management called employees to an impromptu staff meeting where they were told that all positions in Atlanta were being eliminated. Staffers were told new positions were being created and that all current employees would have to reapply for the new jobs. Those jobs will be posted starting this Monday.

Sources tell me that staffers will be told within the next 2-3 weeks, who will stay and who will be given a severage package.
