KRCA cancels 11 pm newscast

January 21, 2011 by Veronica Villafañe

Here’s an update to the changes at the Liberman Broadcasting station in L.A.: the 11 pm newscast has been canceled. Anchor Socorro Cruz, who shared the desk with Jesús Javier, has been moved to the 5 pm newscast, now partnering with Jorge Miramontes.

Jesús Javier, who has been ill for some time, is currently off the air while he undergoes medical treatment.

Until a news director is named, Guillermo Ahumada, currently Managing Editor, will be in charge of the newsroom.

Station employees tell me management attributed these changes to a “restructuring” of the company.

Numerous calls and messages requesting a statement from Liberman Broadcasting have so far been ignored.
