Durkin hired as community manager at BxB

April 25, 2011 by Veronica Villafañe

Freelance journalist Jessica Durkin has been appointed Community Manager at Block by Block, a local publishers network that focuses on entrepreneurial journalism and independent community start-ups.

Jessica spent 5 years as a reporter for the Scranton Times-Tribune, until she got laid-off in 2009, during a round of company layoffs and buyouts. She then founded InOtherNews.us, tracking independent community news start-ups around the country.

Jessica is also currently doing a part-time media policy fellowship with the New America Foundation and is on the board of directors of the NAHJ.
