San José named VP of UTG’s Chicago stations

June 29, 2011 by Veronica Villafañe

Univision has appointed Carlos San José to the position of Vice President and General Manager of Univision Television Group’s Chicago stations.  He fills the vacancy left by Alberto Mier y Terán, who in March was named Vice President and General Manager of KMEX-34 in Los Angeles. Carlos will report to Ramón Pineda, Sr VP and Regional Director, UTG.  He starts the new job July 5th.

Carlos has over two and a half decades of experience in various aspects of sales, management and brand leadership in the U.S. Hispanic market. Before joining Univision, he was VP of National Hispanic Sales at Citadel Media, previously ABC Radio Networks. Before that, he was General Manager and consultant at Azteca America’s Chicago Affiliate (WOCK) and Sr VP at Radio Unica Chicago (WNTD). He has also held previous positions at Univision Chicago (WOJO) and Univision Miami (WLTV).
