Despierta America celebrates 15 years on the air

May 3, 2012 by Veronica Villafañe

Satcha Pretto, Poncho de Anda, Karla Martínez, Chiquinquirá Delgado and Raúl González

Univision Network’s morning show “Despierta América,” turns 15 this month. To celebrate, the entire morning show crew, including hosts Raúl González, Karla Martínez, Chiquinquirá Delgado, Poncho de Anda and news anchor Satcha Pretto will be broadcasting live from Walt Disney World Resort tomorrow morning.

Univision promises to show viewers the “Best of Despierta América” during the past 15 years. None of the current hosts are the original members of the morning show team. It’ll be interesting to see how much they show of the original cast.

The founding hosts of “Despierta América” are Fernando Arau, Ana María Canseco, Rafael José, Giselle Blondet and Neida Sandoval.

In addition to marking its 15th anniversary, the May 4 “Despierta América” broadcast will also commemorate the Cinco de Mayo holiday with live feeds from Puebla, Mexico featuring mariachis and celebrity guests.

The month-long celebration will be captured on “Despierta América’s” online and mobile site, which will feature a brand new design for the anniversary.
