Univision Radio launches new AM radio network

Univision America is the name of a new AM radio network that will be available in Miami, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, McAllen, El Paso, San Antonio, Las Vegas and Los Angeles starting July 4.

Univision Radio announced the launch today, but offered very few details.

The network will feature local, national and international news, weather and traffic updates, as well as shows focused on the issues that matter most to Hispanics, including current events, health and family, finances, education, sports, and entertainment. Univision Radio personalities will be featured on Univision America and new talent will be hired.

Univision Radio currently has 69 owned and operated stations in 16 markets, including all top 10 markets.

The participating Univision Radio stations are:

WQBA – Miami

WRTO – Chicago

KLAT – Houston

KFLC – Dallas

KCOR – San Antonio

KGBT – McCallen

KAMA – El Paso

KLSQ – Las Vegas

KTNQ – Los Angeles
