José Tillán, GM & EVP of Tr3s: MTV, Música y Más is leaving the company.  His last day is Sept. 28.  A press release indicates he’s leaving for “personal reasons.”

Tillán has held his current role since 2009.  He was previously SVP, Creative, Content and Music for MTV Tr3s and held multiple roles within MTV Networks Latin America since 1997.

He’ll be replaced by Fernando Gaston, who’s currently SVP of Content & Creative for MTV, VH1 and Comedy Central Latin America. Gaston will be dropping his duties at Comedy Central, but adding the responsibilities of Brand Manager of Tr3s: MTV, Música y Más.

Gaston joined Viacom International Media Networks in 2007. Since then, he has reinvigorated MTV Latin America’s content strategy and helped spur the network growth, managing to rank among the “Top 5” Pay TV Channels for the last three consecutive years.  He also led the diversification of VH1 Brazil’s programming slate and most recently spearheaded the launch of Comedy Central in Latin America in February. Prior to Viacom, he was General Manager and SVP of Claxson, an entertainment multimedia company.

Prior to joining MTV Networks, Cuervo was Director of Production for GP/BBC Worlwide and previously spent 11 years as an Executive Producer for Argentina’s Artear, Channel 13.
