mun2 sees 94% gain on Sunday nights

May 1, 2013 by Veronica Villafañe

I Love Jenni - Season 3
The final season of “I love Jeni” helped drive ratings at mun2.

April was very good to mun2.  Great weekend prime ratings made it the #1 and fastest-growing Hispanic entertainment cable network among key demos – adults 18-34 and 18-49 – on Sunday night prime (7-11 p.m.) in April, according to Nielsen.

Sunday night’s delivery makes it the best for any month in its history. mun2’s year-over-year growth on Sunday prime was +31% (42,000) adults 18-34, +94% (93,000) adults 18-49 as well as +93% (166,000) total viewers for the month.

The cable network’s original reality series I Love Jenni and its original, bounty hunter reality series Fugitivos de la Ley: Los Angeles drove deliveries for the month, with the final season of I Love Jenni delivering an April reach of 2.3 million total viewers since its April 14 premiere. Both programs finished #1 in their time periods, out-pacing all Hispanic cable networks.

The network was #1 among Hispanic cable networks on Saturday prime (7-11 p.m.), up +19% (102,000) growth with adults 18-49  and +17% (173,000) total viewers. mun2 also tied for the #1 position in adults 18-34 and was #1 among women 18-34 on its You’re On Weekend programming block (Saturday-Sunday, Noon-7p.m.), and in Total Day mun2 was the #1 and fastest-growing Hispanic entertainment network in Fringe with adults 18-34 and adults 18-49.

You’re On Weekend block delivered +13% (79,000) total persons and +3% (40,000) adults 18-49, and was up  +41% (24,000) with women 18-49, and up +30% (13,000) with women 18-34. The network saw an across-the board increase in women in April during Total Day, with +36% (19,000) women 18-49 and +22% (11,000) women 18-34. The increase in women viewers for the network can be attributed to the return of I Love Jenni, which focuses on the life of Latin music Icon Jenni Rivera.

mun2 continues to beat Spanish broadcast networks Azteca America, Estrella TV and MundoFox in key demos during prime (Monday-Sunday, 7-11 p.m.). mun2 beat Azteca America with total viewers (98,000 vs. 89,000), adults 18-49 (58,000 vs. 48,000), and adults 18-34 (33,000 vs. 19,000) for the month. The network beat Estrella TV in adults 18-34 (33,000 vs. 27,000), and also beat MundoFox in total viewers (98,000 vs. 55,000), adults 18-49 (58,000 vs. 26,000), and adults 18-34 (33,000 vs. 9,000).
