María Fernanda Arce has been named Digital News Director and José Fernando López Director of Digital Special Projects for Univision.com. Both will report directly to Daniel Coronell, SVP and Executive News Director for Univision Network News.
Arce joins Univision.com from Argentina’s Clarín.com, where she was most recently editorial coordinator of the news site. Prior to joining Clarin.com in 2008, she worked as a producer at Canal 13, Clarín Global, Press TV and the EFE News Agency. She was a 2012 Dart Center Ochberg Fellow at Columbia University.
For the past three years, López was Editor-in-Chief of Poder magazine and a contributor to the Huffington Post.
Before that, he was Editor-in-Chief for Colombia’s Semana magazine and was previously Director of Diners magazine.
Arce and López are already on board, but Coronell made the official announcement today in an email to staff.
