GLR promotes addition of “El Cucuy” to its radio lineup

Very timely… that was GLR Networks’ announcement that they’ve added the former #1 king of Spanish-language radio, Renán Almendárez Coello…. just moments after Univision Radio notified its affiliated stations that the AM morning drive show “Piolín por la Mañana” was cancelled.

“El Cucuy de la Mañana” currently airs on W Radio 690am Los Angeles (XEWW) Monday-Friday, 5am-10am PST – the same time slot as Piolín’s.

In an email release, GLR announced plans to nationally syndicate “El Cucuy de la Mañana” within the following weeks. The Spanish-language program, formatted to specifically target Mexican Regional stations, brings daily news, interviews, humor, and entertainment.

Renán, “El Cucuy,”  ruled the airwaves in the 90’s, even beating Howard Stern, which generated a lot of press at the time, but lost popularity and fell from radio grace.
