Univision partners with UC Berkeley for news bureau

November 5, 2013 by Veronica Villafañe

Univision-UCBUnivision and its just-launched cable network, Fusion, are partnering with UC Berkeley to establish a news bureau at the university, and generate original content.

The arrangement is specifically set up with UCB’s Center for Latin American Studies, which will help identify university experts, activities, and events of interest to Univision and Fusion’s audiences.

This is the first news alliance between a network and a university.  According to UCB, Univision is providing a full tuition scholarship for a graduate student, who will work on Fusion projects from an office at the center.
