Azteca América’s morning show “El Coffee Break,” hosted by Said García Solís, Melissa Marty and Rodolfo Jiménez, is history. The network pulled the plug on the show a week ago.
A source says over a dozen people were let go, including most of the talent.
A company spokesperson confirmed the cancellation, but did not provide details about the layoffs:
“This was a programming decision as we prepare for upfront and realign our resources,” says spokesperson Widad Leal. “Some of the talent will be working on other different projects coming up.”
The show, which aired until April 18 at 10 am ET/PT, has been replaced – at least for the time being – with reruns of “Al Extremo,” which the network normally airs at 10 pm.
