Acosta promoted to EVP of Viacom International

May 5, 2014 by Veronica Villafañe

Juan “JC” Acosta has been promoted from Sr VP to Executive Vice President, CFO and Executive-in-Charge of Production for Viacom International Media Networks The Americas, which operates multiple global brands in the US Hispanic, Latin America (including Brazil) and Canada markets.

Based in Miami, he reports to both Sofia Ioannou, Managing Director and Scot Mc Bride, EVP and COO of VIMN The Americas.

In his new role, he’s responsible for the financial leadership of the company’s entertainment portfolio, which includes MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, VH1 and Tr3s in the US.

He also has oversight of the company’s original production strategy, including English-language adaptions of Latin America formats for sister networks around the world, as well as the supervision of finance, production management, customizations, and franchise expansions.

Prior to joining VIMN in 2007, Acosta was Director of Finance for NBCU/Telemundo Network Group. He was previously part of the Corporate Audit functions at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and the Walt Disney Company in California.
