Arantxa won’t begin her weekend anchor gig until sometime in August. But starting Monday, July 28, she’ll be filling in for Satcha Pretto on “Despierta América” while she’s on maternity leave.
Arantxa was hired as a reporter at KWEX in 2007 and named primetime anchor of the station’s weekday newscasts in 2011.
She previously worked at Telemundo San Antonio in the news and commercial production departments for about two years. During that time, she was a TV show host, a video and audio editor, floor manager, and entertainment reporter.
Born and raised in Mexico City, she started her TV career at 18 as the host of a live children’s television show called the “Click Club.” Two years later, she moved to San Antonio with her family, where she has lived for the past 10 years.
She earned her undergraduate degree in journalism while working full-time as a reporter.
