DJ Laz returns with new Miami radio show

Starting August 25, DJ LAZ returns to the airwaves. Cox Media Group (CMG) Miami has hired Lázaro Méndez, aka DJ Laz, to host a new local morning show for Miami’s WFLC/HITS 97.3.

DJ Laz will be joined by co-host Kimmy, who comes on board from WFLC’s sister station WEDR.

DJ Laz spent 22 years in the market at Power 96.

SBS made a lot of noise when it hired the popular radio personality in 2012, first hosting “The DJ Laz Morning Show” on KXOL 96.3 FM and later expanding it to become a live coast-to-coast morning program, also airing on WRMA station in Miami. But without notice, DJ Laz disappeared from SBS’ air in November of last year, after the company changed the format at 106.7 FM.
