Editorial writer Eva Rodríguez has left the Washington Post to become Senior Editor at Politico magazine. She had been at the Post for the last 7 years in several roles.

Her first day on the new job was this past Monday, August 18.

She joined the Post in 2007 as an editorial writer, responsible for legal affairs and was named Deputy Editor of the Style section in 2012. In June of this year, she became Europe and Americas editor, overseeing coverage from the paper’s bureaus in London, Berlin, Moscow, Mexico and Rio de Janeiro.

Eva was previously Washington bureau chief for BusinessWeek. She began her career with the Miami Daily Business Review, where she covered courts and business. She previously spent 10 years with the Washington-based weekly Legal Times, as a Supreme Court and federal courts reporter, later becoming executive editor and then editor-in-chief.

She has also worked for the Miami Herald, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times.
