Laid off Univision PR reporters land jobs at Telemundo

October 22, 2014 by Veronica Villafañe

Nuria Sebazco and Zugey Lamela
Nuria Sebazco and Zugey Lamela were laid off Friday from Univision PR and began at Telemundo on Monday.

Just two days after the massive layoffs at Univision Puerto Rico, anchor/reporters Nuria Sebazco and Zugey Lamela are on the air again – on competitor Telemundo.

Both only had a weekend break, before starting to report for Telenoticias Puerto Rico on Monday.

Nuria had been with Univision Puerto Rico since 2000. Zugey had been at the station since 2014.

About 100 of their colleagues lost their jobs last Friday, when Univision announced the shutdown of its news, production and promotions departments.

Both Nuria and Zugey took to social media to thank Telemundo for their support.

Gracias a @TelenoticiasPR por el cálido recibimiento.
