García leaves Yahoo! for GM role at Comcast

November 5, 2014 by Veronica Villafañe

Javier García has joined Comcast Cable as Vice President and General Manager, Multicultural Services. He’ll be based in Philadelphia and report to Marcien Jenckes, EVP of Consumer Services for Comcast Cable.

In his new role, which he started November 3, he’ll be responsible for directing, designing and implementing Comcast’s multicultural services strategy across all Xfinity products.

Prior to taking the job at Comcast, García spent 8 years at Yahoo!, most recently as General Manager of U.S. Hispanic business, leading monetization, partnerships and operations for the company’s premium media, programmatic, and native advertising businesses.

He was previously Senior Director of Marketing Solutions for Y! Hispanic Americas leading the organization responsible for digital branded entertainment and display advertising solutions in the region.

In the last three years, Comcast launched the Xfinity Latino Entertainment Channel, an interactive Spanish-language channel and developed new triple play packages focused on its multicultural customers.
