López promoted to News Director at KTLM

December 16, 2014 by Veronica Villafañe

Miguelángel López has been promoted from Executive Producer to News Director at KTLM-40, the Telemundo O&O in McAllen that covers South Texas’s Rio Grande Valley.

He replaces Juan Francisco Cobos, who left the position in September for a Univision producer/correspondent job, also in McAllen.

In his new role, Miguelángel will be responsible for the overall performance of the news department and all other local productions across multiple media platforms.

Miguelángel was the Executive Producer for Noticias Telemundo 40 since July of this year. He helped launch the new 4:30 pm weekday local newscast.

He was previously a Miami-based producer for Telemundo network. He started his career with the company in his native Puerto Rico in 2006, as a news assistant, later becoming a host and producer for “Día a Día” and “Al Rojo Vivo.”
