January 22, 2015 by Veronica Villafañe

Miami-based channel AméricaTevé has launched its first morning newscast.

Anchored by Luisiana Rios, “Arriba América,” which airs Monday through Friday at 7 am, debuted on Wednesday, January 21.

The live one-hour morning program, which replaces infomercial programming, is produced by Yudelkis Hernández.

Luisiana will be pulling double duty. She will also continue to anchor “Al Cierre,” the station’s 11 pm newscast. She has been the late-night evening anchor since March 2013.

The Venezuelan journalist was previously news director and anchor for the short-lived online interactive news venture SOiTV.

A company rep says reporters René Pedrosa, Yvette Lewis, Rolando Nápoles, Gina Romero, Nara Roza, Javier Serrano, Luis Alfonso Fernández will be on call to contribute to the morning newscast, as needed.
