The third season premiere of Telemundo’s super series “El Señor de los Cielos” ranked as the highest rated premiere in network history, averaging 2,681,000 total viewers and 1,760,000 adults 18-49, according to Nielsen.

The first episode, which aired yesterday night at 10 pm, delivered an increase of +14% and +23% among total viewers, and 22% and 27% among adults 18-49, versus seasons one and two, respectively, reaching a cumulative audience of 3,346,000 total viewers.

Telemundo’s original production outperformed all Spanish-language networks in total viewers and adults 18-49, and English-language broadcasters CBS and ABC, across adults 18-49, at 10pm.

On a local level, “El Señor de los Cielos” ranked #1 among adults 18-49, regardless of language, in Miami, Houston and Phoenix and was the #1 Spanish-language program in its time period in Chicago, in that same demo.

On the digital front, the series, which stars Rafael Amaya in the lead role, ranked as the #1 most social Spanish-language program in terms of total tweets, according to Nielsen Social.
