Telemundo launches search for next Menudo

As Univision and Simon Cowell prep for the launch of “La Banda” – a competition to find the ultimate boy band, Telemundo is out to revive the ultimate Latino boy band: Menudo.

Telemundo has teamed up with Menudo Entertainment and Showpitch.com to do a “digital talent search” to find the next generation of Menudo.

“Menudo – En Busca de la Nueva Generación” seeks to enlist the audience to participate via social media platforms in the search of teenage music artists.

The 16 week contest begins July 1, when young hopefuls between the ages of 10 to 15 can go to Showpitch.com, an online platform for emerging talent, to build their “Talent Stage” page and submit their 3-minute video entry.

Fans will vote to pick their favorite contestants directly via Twitter and Facebook. The top 25 finalists will all perform in Miami before a panel of judges for a chance to become a member of the next generation of Menudo.

The 5 winning artists will be offered a music contract by Menudo Entertainment.
