Telemundo’s Latin AMAs reach 3.8 million

The broadcast of Telemundo’s first-ever Latin American Music Awards got to a good start. The live show reached a cumulative audience of 3,800,000 total viewers and 1,800,000 adults 18-49, according to Nielsen.

The inaugural show, hosted by singer/actress Lucero and featuring top musical acts such as Daddy Yankee, Paulina Rubio, and Yandel, averaged 2,080,000 total viewers and 997,000 adults 18-49.

Locally, the “Latin American Music Awards” ranked as the #1 show in its time slot, regardless of language, among adults 18-49 in Miami and Houston.

The show, which ended with a musical tribute to Celia Cruz, also ranked as the #1 most socially engaging program for the night on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram across all US Hispanic networks with 267,000 mentions, reaching 12.1 million users worldwide on Facebook.

Favorite Male Artist- Regional Mexican: Louis Coronel
Favorite Duo or Group- Regional Mexican: Julión Álvarez y su Norteño Banda
Favorite Song- Regional Mexican: “Y Así Fue,” Julión Álvarez y su Norteño Banda
Favorite Male Artist- Urban: Daddy Yankee
