Méndez to lead new Telemundo 40 investigative unit

Telemundo40-RespondeThe “Telemundo Responde” franchise is expanding to South Texas.

KTLM Telemundo 40 Rio Grande Valley announced it will also invest in a dedicated investigative team to address consumer complaints about immigrant fraud, scams and other community concerns.

Emmy-award winning Ana Cecilia Méndez, who has worked as an anchor and reporter for Telemundo 40’s weekend newscasts since 2013, will be the consumer investigative reporter leading the unit.

“Telemundo 40 Responde” will debut on Thursday, May 26 during the station’s weekday newscast, which airs at 4:30, 5 and 10 pm.

The “Telemundo Responde” franchise was launched in 2014 and has been picked up by 11 Telemundo stations, including three other Texas markets: Houston (KTMD), Dallas-Fort Worth (KXTX) and San Antonio (KVDA).
