Egaña, Arduino change roles; Romo joins CNNE after Cala’s exit

Ismael Cala’s decision to leave CNN en Español to focus on his company and personal projects has prompted the network to do a series of programming and talent changes.

When Ismael announced his departure during his show on Tuesday night, he revealed that Camilo Egaña would take over his 9 pm ET talk show starting July 1.

From L to R: Camilo Egaña, Guillermo Arduino and Rafael Romo.

CNNE confirmed Camilo, who joined the network in 2010, will move to the primetime slot in a renamed, rebranded program titled “Kmilo.”

Guillermo Arduino will replace Camilo when he leaves “Encuentro,” which airs weekdays at 5 pm ET.  Guillermo has been with CNNE for 17 years and is currently host of the network’s weekend “Mirador Mundial” and tech show “Clix.”

With the weekend opening, CNNE is bringing in Rafael Romo to anchor “Mirador Mundial” on Saturdays and Sundays at 6 pm. Rafael joins the Spanish news network team from CNN, where he has been the Latin American Affairs Editor since 2009.
