KSTS Telemundo 48 has hired two new Multi Media Journalists. Melissa Hernández and David González will report for Noticiero Telemundo 48 at 5:30, 6 and 11 pm.
They’ll make their on-air debut in early September.
The additions come after the departure of video journalist Alonso Castillo at the end of July, and as the station prepares to launch a 5 pm newscast on September 26.
Melissa, who started at the station last week, joins Telemundo 48 from Entravision Communications where she worked as a video journalist, fill-in anchor and producer at the Univision affiliate in Salinas since 2015.
She previously worked as a writer and producer for KDTV 14 Univision San Francisco.
David arrives to San Jose from Telemundo affiliate KUNA in Palm Springs, where he was the 6 and 11 pm weekday anchor since 2014. Before that, he worked as anchor for Poder Latino TV, which aired on Los Angeles’ KWHY sub channel 22.4.
His first day is August 29.
