Discovery Communications has launched DNews en Español in an effort to broaden its digital reach, specifically targeting Hispanic millennials.
The Spanish-language segments are hosted by Alberto Valls and Lissette Padilla, who is a veteran of the existing DNews channel in the U.S.
DNews en Español, developed by Discovery Digital Network’s online brand Seeker, will run three new episodes per week delivering short-form video explainers from medical breakthroughs to science discoveries.
The segments were created exclusively for online consumption and will run on the Discovery’s first digital native channel on YouTube, not on the network’s linear feeds.
Since its launch in 2012, DNews has generated more than 400 million views. Discovery is hoping to replicate that success with DNews en Español.
