Nación ESPN debuts on ESPN2

September 26, 2016 by Veronica Villafañe

Nacion ESPN
From L to R: Bernardo Osuna, Marly Rivera and Jorge Sedano host the new Nación ESPN on ESPN2.

Starting today, ESPN2 will air a new one-hour afternoon interactive sports talk show targeting bilingual U.S. Hispanic sports fans.

“Nación ESPN” will be hosted by three Latino commentators: Jorge Sedano, co-host of ESPNLA’s Mornings with Keyshawn and Jorge and LZ, Bernardo Osuna, ESPN’s bilingual boxing reporter and host of ESPN Deportes’ A Los Golpes, and baseball expert Marly Rivera.

Ignacio García, who created and launched “Nación ESPN” in Spanish for ESPN Deportes in 2011, is the Executive Producer for the English-language version of the program airing on ESPN2.

The show airs live at 5 p.m. ET on Mondays from ESPN’s studios in Los Angeles.

The program is a fusion of the two Emmy Award-winning shows, “SportsNation” and “Nación ESPN” on ESPN Deportes. The show will follow a similar format and leverage the crossover that exists between the programs, connecting the ESPN and ESPN Deportes audiences.

Update 10/4/16: You can read more about ESPN’s Hispanic market strategy in a special Forbes story.
