Texas Univision and Telemundo stations win big at Lone Star Emmys

Univision Houston Emmys 2016

Univision stations KXLN Houston 45, KWEX San Antonio 41, KUVN Dallas 23 and KAKW Austin 62 were recognized with a combined 31 Emmys from the Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). Notable wins include an Overall Excellence Emmy for KUVN 23 and a Team Coverage Emmy to the KXLN 45 news team.

Rival Telemundo stations also fared very well during the awards ceremony, which took place on Saturday, October 15.

Telemundo-owned KXTX 39 Dallas, KTMD 40 Houston and KTLM Rio Grande Valley picked up a combined 39 awards. Among Telemundo’s notable wins: News Excellence and best anchor honors for KXTX 39 and best Newscast – Evening large market for KTMD 40. ZGS Telemundo affiliate KTDO also picked up three awards.
