Carrasquillo named Buzzfeed’s White House correspondent

Adrian Carrasquillo is leaving New York City and his job as BuzzFeed’s political reporter and editor of Latino coverage.

Starting in January, he’ll be White House correspondent covering the Trump administration for BuzzFeed News, based in D.C.

For the past two years, Adrian has been covering the presidential campaign, reporting on the candidates from the primary to the general election, as well as issues of importance to Latinos during the process.

“I think now — more than ever — Latino voices will be important across media and politics and I take that responsibility seriously as well,” he shared on Facebook today. “It’s the next step for me, to be the guy, not just the Latino guy, but that has also never been a problem for me and BuzzFeed hasn’t made me feel that way, which is rare and awesome.”

Before joining Buzzfeed in 2013, Adrian was a social media and web producer for the now defunct NBC Latino. Before that, he was a writer and producer for Fox News Latino.
