Media Moves launches campaign to overhaul website

January 6, 2017 by Veronica Villafañe

Support Media Moves

Friends and colleagues,

When I started Media Moves in 2007, my goal was and continues to be to highlight the many Latino journalists who work in the media and their accomplishments – something no one else has done.

Since then, Media Moves has become a popular and trusted industry source.

A lot of work goes into producing the content and maintaining the site. As Media Moves prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary in June of this year, I need your help.

I must do a series of long overdue technical upgrades, including a mobile-friendly redesign of the website and expand server support.

The site has been a one person operation. To keep up with the growing amount of news about Hispanics in the media industry, I also need to hire a freelance contributor to help produce content. To accomplish these goals, I need to raise a minimum of $30,000.

Despite recommendations to take Media Moves behind a paywall, forcing people to subscribe for a fee, I rejected that option so everyone can continue to access the content.

I believe it’s very important that Latino media professionals have a place where their work can be recognized and their presence is visible.

Your financial contribution, no matter the amount, will help Media Moves continue its mission and improve the user experience.

In exchange for your financial support, you will become a member of the Media Moves network, helping further the goal of raising the visibility and empowering Latinos in media.

Memberships are tax-deductible, so your contribution will have that added benefit when you prepare next year’s taxes.

In addition to your financial support, I look forward to receiving your feedback and recommendations on features you would like to see in the new and improved Media Moves.

Please take a moment to click on the support button below to make a contribution. The Pay Pal message reads “Donate to Alter Ego Communications,” which is the parent company of Media Moves.

Thank you!

Veronica
