KNTV hires reporter Sergio Quintana

Segio QuintanaSergio Quintana, who has been working as a freelance reporter for KGO, ABC’s O&O in San Francisco, is moving on to competitor KNTV.

He starts a staff position at the NBC-owned station on Wednesday May 10.

Quintana was in Nepal when a massive 7.2 aftershock from a 2015 earthquake hit the country. He was the only Bay Area reporter to on the ground and contributed several reports to ABC News during the 10 days he was in Kathmandu.

Prior to joining KGO in 2011, he worked as a freelance reporter and producer for NPR and Al Jazeera English. He previously worked as a reporter at WNCN-TV in North Carolina and for KFWB radio in Los Angeles.
