KVDA launches four new weekend newscasts

L to R: Jessica Montoya, Jairo Lozano and Alejandra Becerra.

KVDA in San Antonio will have four new half-hour weekend newscasts starting tomorrow. The new shows will air Saturdays at 5 and 10 pm and Sundays at 4:30 and 10.

Jairo Lozano will anchor the weekend edition of “Noticias 60 Telemundo,” alongside weather anchor Jessica Montoya, sports anchor Alejandra Becerra and reporter Genaro Tijerina.

Diego Aparicio and Nelly Guzmán will produce the weekend shows.

The launch marks the first time Telemundo San Antonio will have a weekend newscast.

Lozano has been a reporter at KVDA since February of last year. He was previously a video journalist for Telemundo 40 in McAllen.

Montoya joined KVDA in 2014 after spending 8 years as a morning show host for Entravision in McAllen.

Becerra arrives to KVDA from Univisión 41 San Antonio, where she had been a sports anchor since 2014.

Tijerina is also a newcomer, coming on board the station in April of this year. He was previously a bilingual news reporter for Noticias 48 Univision and Fox News in McAllen.
