Telemundo Chicago is finally going to have weekend newscasts and has hired new talent for the launch.

The first weekend editions of “Noticiero Telemundo Chicago” will start Saturday, July 22 and will air weekends at 5 and 10 pm.

Hernán Fratto will anchor the newscasts. Weather anchor Jessica Delgado and reporter Angélica Gómez, both new hires, along with reporter Jorge DeSantiago round up the weekend news team.

As for sports, César Rodríguez will anchor on Saturdays and Rodrigo Arana on Sundays.

Fratto was promoted to anchor just three months after joining Telemundo Chicago as a reporter. He was previously an anchor at the Univision affiliate in Ft. Myers. Before that, he spent 10 years as an anchor and reporter for América Noticias in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Delgado arrives to Chicago from sister station Telemundo Phoenix, where she was weather anchor and reporter for two years. She previously worked as a reporter for MundoFox in Miami.

Gómez was a general assignment reporter for Univision 45 in Houston, until she was laid off in a massive wave of nation-wide cuts in April. Before that, she was a reporter for Univision 48 in McAllen, TX.

DeSantiago joined Telemundo Chicago as a reporter in 2015. He previously worked for Telemundo 60 San Antonio as a news reporter and anchor.

Rodríguez joined Telemundo Chicago as a news reporter in 2013. He has also worked as a reporter for the Chicago White Sox and was a collaborator for ESPNDeportes.com.

Arana, who joined the station in 2014, is currently weekday sports anchor. Prior to joining Telemundo Chicago, he was a reporter, news editor, and weekday sports anchor for Fox Sports Latin America in Mexico City.
