Telemundo Philadelphia hires Villalobos and Anaya for new weekday newscasts

Syrmarie Villalobos (L) and Alondra Anaya will anchor Telemundo Philadelphia’s new weekday newscasts.

WWSI Telemundo 62 Philadelphia is launching weekday morning and midday newscasts and has hired Syrmarie Villalobos and Alondra Anaya to anchor the new shows.

“Primera Edición” at 6 am will be a 60-minute newscast and “Telemundo 62 al Mediodía” at 12 pm will run 30 minutes. Both newscasts debut Monday, April 2.

Villalobos, who joined the station on March 5, arrives from Puerto Rico, where she was an anchor and reporter at WAPA-TV.

Anaya, who will anchor weather, starts on March 26. She was most recently a weather anchor and fill-in anchor and reporter KNVN and KHSL in Chico-Redding, CA.
